My Experience at Jerome Fisher Management & Technology Summer Institute
M&TSI program

This summer (2025), I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) at the University of Pennsylvania. M&T SI is a unique program that bridges the worlds of engineering innovation and business leadership. Designed as a condensed version of the renowned Jerome Fisher M&T Program, M&TSI immersed me in an environment where technology and entrepreneurship truly converged.
Each day brought new experiences. For starters, the other participants in the program were from all over the country and from across the world. Every person in the program was so highly accomplished that it was a privilege to be around people that you knew were each going to make a difference somewhere in the world during their life. The classes were no less engaging. Not for the faint of heart for sure since the hours were significant, but every hour counted and it was fun.
The course was hands-on in that we had to go through every step from ideation to building a working product to preparing a business plan to pitching it and then being judged on every aspect ranging from the engineering to the go to market. This was a crash course in teamwork, all under the guidance of M&T mentors who pushed us to think critically and creatively.
We also participated in company site visits, gaining firsthand insight into how businesses operate and scale in the real world. Conversations with current M&T undergraduates and program alumni provided not only an authentic glimpse into what it means to balance engineering precision with entrepreneurial vision, but also a glimpse of the potential alumni network.
M&TSI wasn’t just an academic experience. It was a transformative journey at least for me. It reaffirmed my desire to pursue a path that combines engineering and entrepreneurship with societal impact.
